Custom cover for Nine Inch Nail’s “The Slip”. The cover is based on the idea of digital distortion, in this case literally.
I took a high res image of the original cover and opened it up on Notepad. If you do this with any image, you basically get a bunch of jargon which is the image properties in text or ‘code’ format.
By modifying the contents in a text editor you can edit the image to produce weird sort of effects aka random distortion, which is what you see above. (I literally copied and pasted Wikipedia articles into the picture.)
